About Us

Auckland City Mission provides practical help & works on long-term solutions

Since 1920, Auckland City Mission has been helping Auckland families in desperate need. The Mission is of the few remaining social service providers in Auckland’s inner city. We provide assistance to individuals and families who may be experiencing a temporary setback, such as a job loss, or who face a long-term issue, such as a health concern, that requires professional attention.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the Mission provides food, advocacy, and a range of professional social services including homeless activities & casework, crisis care, medical and drug & alcohol support to Aucklanders who have nowhere else to turn.

In the 2015 financial year, the City Mission:

  • Distributed $1.3 million worth of food including through Foodlink, our Community Food Programme that supports 69 food banks and community organisations
  • Provided 10,934 food parcels to families and individuals
  • Allocated 1,043 items of furniture to families and individuals in desperate need

We couldn’t have done any of this without the help and generosity of all our fantastic supporters. Thank you so much.
